Dear Trusted Servants and Fellows,
As the Chair of the Los Angeles Intergroup, I want to reach out directly to those of you — and those in your Intergroups — who may be traveling farther to attend the 66th Annual OA Birthday Party.
Earlier in my recovery, I had the privilege of serving as the Young Person’s Chair at the World Service Business Conference. It opened my eyes to how deeply members around the world show up for recovery — sometimes traveling long distances, sometimes coming from places where meetings are sparse, sometimes carrying the message in conditions that require an incredible amount of willingness and spiritual effort.
Traveling isn't Small
We know traveling isn’t small. We planned with that reality in mind. We hope all newcomers feel welcome, and those trusted servants dong the hard work at home carrying the message will find respite while you are here.
We know it's hard to leave these conferences rested, but we are committed to helping you leave spiritually nourished and renewed!
We’ve Worked to Keep It Accessible
While honoring Tradition Seven and our role as an Intergroup fundraiser, we’ve done everything we can to keep this weekend accessible:
A free LAX shuttle goes directly to the Hilton for anyone flying in.
Keynote lunch and dinner are priced at cost — with no markup — to support accessibility.
We secured a discounted hotel rate to make travel manageable.
Early-Bird registration is $60 through November 30.
We want this weekend to feel spiritually supportive, not financially overwhelming.
This Year’s Theme
Our theme, Eternal Sunshine of the Recovering Mind, celebrates the awakening, connection, and clarity that come from showing up — especially when showing up requires real willingness.
The weekend includes meetings, workshops, Special Focus sessions, meditation, fellowship rooms, and space to reconnect with your center.
Spreading the Word
We hope to see new faces from all corners experience the collective consciousness of OA recovery that many of us have come to love over the years at this Annual Event.
You can assist us by sharing the flyer, sharing the link at the bottom of this page, or printing this out.
A Script You Can Share
If you’d like to pass this along to your members or delegates:
“The OA 66th Birthday Party takes place January 16–18 at the Hilton LAX. Early-Bird registration is $60 through November 30. The weekend includes meetings, workshops, Special Focus sessions, meditation, and fellowship. Members can find details and register at https://www.oalaig.org/66th-oa-birthday-party.”
In Gratitude
Whether you join us in Los Angeles or support your members from home, I want to thank you — truly — for the service you give and the recovery you help maintain in your communities.
We’re united in one purpose: carrying the message, one meeting, one Intergroup, one member at a time.
In service and fellowship,
The Los Angeles Intergroup Chair & Birthday Party Committee
