Thoughts from a fellow!
Peace is found in AccEPtanCE
I learned something from each of the diet programs and exercise trainers I tried over decades of gaining and losing weight. It wasn’t enough. About a dozen years ago, I sought and found sanity in OA. I was desperate to stop my compulsive eating and obsession with weight and food. I found many helpful OA members, a sponsor, literature, recordings, tools, and, most of all, the Big Book and the Twelve Steps.
This share is about Acceptance and is related to page 417 in Alcoholics Anonymous. I have been reflecting on the peace I want in my life. Recently, I noticed that the letters for peace are contained in the word acceptance.
• I accept that I am a compulsive eater and that peace is found in abstinence.
• I accept that I do not need to find answers to every question or situation. I find peace in knowing a Higher Power holds all the mysteries of the universe.
• I accept that feelings are not facts. I find peace in allowing my HP to guide me through them.
• I accept that I am not in charge of anyone else’s life. I am more peaceful and helpful when I support by listening to someone with loving detachment and respecting their dignity of choice in their decisions.
• I accept that hard times are a part of life. I find peace in turning my life over to the care of my HP.
• I accept that I am human and therefore imperfect. God’s love gives me peace, joy, and all the strength I need to live in acceptance one day at a time.
I am filled with gratitude for all the acceptance you have given me as fellows on this path. Thank you.

New to OA?
You're Not Alone
If you’re struggling with food—whether it’s compulsive eating, bingeing, restricting, obsessing, or anything in between—welcome. Overeaters Anonymous is a Fellowship of people who share a common problem and are finding a common solution through the Twelve Steps. There's no cost to join, no weigh-ins, and no judgment. Just people who’ve been where you are, and who are walking a path of physical, emotional, and spiritual recovery together—one day at a time.
We hope you’ll stay for the miracle.

Delegates Corner
Each OA meeting is encouraged to send a Delegate to the monthly Intergroup meeting—typically held at 10:15 AM on the third Saturday of the month. Any OA member may attend, but Delegates have a vital role: they carry their meeting’s group conscience to Intergroup and bring back important updates to their group.
