About

Welcome to the OA LA Intergroup Online Fellowship

This space exists to support one another and strengthen our connection as a Fellowship—whether we meet face-to-face, online, or by phone. We are one OA community, united in our primary purpose: to carry the message of recovery to the compulsive eater who still suffers.

Here, you can:

  • Share about a meeting that needs support

  • Reach out if you’re looking for a sponsor

  • Offer or request experience, strength, and hope

  • Connect in service and recovery across formats

In OA, we are never alone. This Fellowship grows not just in numbers, but in love, understanding, and shared responsibility. Together, we do what we could never do alone—now with even more ways to stay connected.

Group Rules

Honor Anonymity (Tradition Eleven)

- OA considers the internet—including private groups—a form of public media. - Please avoid posting faces, full names, or other personally identifying information in group posts. - Each member is free to break their own anonymity, but we ask everyone to consider the group as a whole. Protecting anonymity helps create safety and shared trust, especially for newcomers. - Profile images are welcome, but we suggest using recovery-friendly or neutral images instead of personal photos, in the spirit of Tradition Eleven. - What you see here, what you hear here, what you read here, stays here.

Share Experience, Strength, and Hope—not advice

- Speak from your own experience, using “I” statements. - Avoid giving food advice, medical opinions, or directing others. - OA is a spiritual—not professional—program of recovery. - No Cross talk unless explicitly requested by the member

Practice Love, Tolerance, and Inclusion (Traditions One & Two)

- All OA members are welcome—newcomers, long-timers, and everyone in between. - Treat one another with kindness, humility, and respect. - Disrespectful or argumentative posts may be removed to preserve group safety and unity.

Keep it OA (Tradition Ten)

- Focus posts on OA recovery, service, and Fellowship. - Use OA-approved literature or personal experience grounded in the Steps and Traditions. - Memes are welcome if they reflect personal recovery and align with OA principles. Please avoid anything that references outside programs, promotes non-OA solutions, or shifts the focus away from experience, strength, and hope.

This is a Service-Based Space (Tradition Five)

- This group supports recovery through service and connection. - It does not replace meetings, sponsorship, therapy, or emergency help. - If you are in distress, please seek professional support.

Group Conscience Guides Us (Tradition Two & Concept Four)

- This space is maintained by trusted servants in alignment with OA’s Traditions and Concepts of Service. - Any proposed changes to group guidelines or additional policies may be brought forward through a group conscience process and voted on within this space. - All members are encouraged to participate in decisions that affect our shared Fellowship.

Membership and Belonging (Tradition Three)

- The only requirement to participate in this fellowship space is a desire to stop eating compulsively. - You do not need to have a sponsor, be in service, or attend a certain number of meetings—if you’re here, you belong. - We honor each person’s journey and welcome all who seek recovery.
