FAQs:

How do we protect anonymity?

The Intergroup has disabled all automatic recording setting so that meetings using the intergroups meeting ID are anonymous and protected.

The meetings that record, such as Kitchen Sink, have a setting they can use for a local recording.

If there is no zoom meeting ID, does that mean there’s no zoom meeting?

Correct. It means that no one from the meeting has set it up yet. It’s best if someone contacts the meeting secretary to initiate this process.

Can I just use a free account to host my own meeting?

Free Zoom accounts only allow you to have 40 minutes of call time.

A paid zoom account ($15/month) has no time limit.

You are welcome to purchase your own paid zoom account with your meeting’s treasury to host your own meeting.   If you do this, please just let us know at virtual@oalaig.org

Are all OA meetings phone meetings?

Or do we also have links for…online, virtual meetings with…audio and (optional) video?

Most of the meetings are video/phone combo. When using Zoom, the video is always optional. You can turn your video off, if you choose. You can also simply join the meeting by phone, if you choose.
